A Snapshot of DEMO ‘08
Posted February 1st, 2008 by Jonah ParanskyThe craziness that was DEMO ’08 has finally come to an end. We met lots of great people, saw some truly innovative and exciting companies - including local companies Mandiant and Catalyst Web Services - and even had time to blog and twitter a bit (even though Twitter had some downtime issues - but that is for a different post). We appreciate all the great coverage we have received to date, including but not limited to, and in no particular order:
- Dean Takahashi of the San Jose Mercury News previewed how StackSafe Test Center looks to reduce “Patch and Pray”
- Jon Brodkin and Denise Dubie of NetworkWorld place StackSafe Test Center in the context of bringing usefulness and simplicity to the enterprise
- Dan “The Virtual Man” Kusnetzky of ZDNet thinks that StackSafe’s Test Center approach seems sound and will likely appeal to large and very large companies
- Charles Babcock of InformationWeek discusses the implications StackSafe Test Center has for the virtualization marketplace
- Mark Hall of ComputerWorld discusses StackSafe Test Center in conjunction with the pain of IT Operations Teams
- Michael Miller of Forward Thinking (PCMagazine) calls out StackSafe Test Center as one of his favorite products at DEMO ‘08
- Dan Farber of ZDNet provides a quick overview of StackSafe Test Center on his Between the Lines blog
- CMP Channel puts StackSafe Test Center in 20 DEMO Products That Matter To VARs
- puts StackSafe in the category of Hoepful HighTech Disruptors
- Lance of Appscout (PC Magazine) rated StackSafe Test Center a 5 for feasibility, and included Stacksafe in his Top 10 DEMO 08 products
- New Digital Computer provides a brief look at StackSafe Test Center
- Robin Wauters at Virtualization thought StackSafe Test Center was really compelling
- Frank Gruber at SomeWhat Frank provides a quick blurb on StackSafe Test Center
- David Worthington at SDTimes provides a look at StackSafe Test Center’s implications for QA and Test Teams
- Joshua Jaffe of Tech Confidential and The Deal ranks StackSafe in the top 10 of best venture capital investment opportunities at DEMO ‘08
We’re very thankful for the opportunity to present at DEMO ‘08. It was a great place for us to launch StackSafe Test Center - even though we had heard people say that DEMO is not always a good place for B2B companies to launch. Our experience was that it proved to be a great venue to meet with interesting people and companies who are pushing technology to new frontiers, and we’re honored that we were chosen to participate.
We spent countless hours practicing as well as talking to media and venture capitalists, but we found time to make new friends and visit with other exhibiting companies . Our favorites were:
- Celsias (our booth neighbors)
- Citrix Systems
- Flypaper
- LiquidPlanner
- LiveScribe
- Rove Mobile
- Standout Jobs
- Seesmic
- Silobreakers
- TubeMogul
We also took the time to document our experience through Flickr, and we’d like to share some of our favorite moments. In addition, Graeme Thickins had some fun pictures and Brian Solis took some great ones of the conference that we would like to post.
Our team, Drew Gross, Joe Pendry, Loren Burnett, Jonah Paransky, and Cal Jeffrey.
